Who is behind the collectives workshop:
Founded in 2019 as a collaborative effort between photographer Dawn Honsky and designer Eilis Petrosino. With over 20 years of experience Dawns rich knowledge of photography, business and working with couples, you’ll be sure to walk away feeling energized by her philosophy and energy. Eilis, a career designer who does both interior and event work, will create an unforgettable backdrop unlike anything you’ve seen before. Both creatives have worked together to design and photograph interiors and events that have been featured in Wedding Chicks, Green Wedding Shoes, Saratoga Bridal Magazine and other notable online platforms and publications like Hudson Valley Magazine and Simply Saratoga.
About The Workshop
The Creatives Workshop is dedicated to providing the absolute highest quality educational platform for photography + design in order to help you take your photography (and your business) to the next level. Immerse yourself in a positive, fun learning environment, all while photographing in the beautiful Inn At Five Points in Saratoga Springs, New York. Experiment with visual storytelling and building a portrait series through settings in this inspiring Victorian home location. You’ll learn how to see and create beautiful light, work with models, and compose compelling portraits, implied narratives or staged fictions from what you discover at the inn. Unlike other workshops where students are all exposed to the same visuals, you’ll individually have a chance to design one of a kind scenes. Class size is limited to 16 students.
What to Expect
Two Day Workshop March 12th-14th Will Include The Following:
- 16+ Hours Of Education Indoors and Outdoors
- Lodging At The Inn At Five Points (Two nights Thursday + Friday)
- Six prepared meals Thursday-Saturday including a themed dinner experience and photography opportunity and a movie night/slumber party to get to know your other photography collectives

What You’ll Learn:
Educational Topics will include but are not limited to:
- Posing + creating prompts that are creative to evoke genuine emotion from your clients
- Lighting + how to make it work for you creatively including when and how
- Client Management tools and systems that work
- Organization within a small business, before and after shoots and in your work/home life
- Nailing down your dream clients from inquiry to delivery (and everything in between)
- Client connections, what works and what doesn’t
- YOUR brand, how to rock social media, social media tips and tricks and workflow (We will have a session with a social media guru in the industry)
- Secrets into MY editing style (Clean, Timeless + Honest ...and a little bit moody)
- How to develop your signature look and style
- Professionalism both within the industry and with your clients
**Most of these topics will be covered in different educational settings to create a variety of education experiences like hands on learning, small class group work and individualized settings for optimal learning.

Dawn is an Intimate Wedding and Elopement Photographer based out of Upstate New York, sharing time in and around The Adirondacks & The Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
She absolutely loves everything about elopements & Intimate weddings. From the moment she reads your emails, love stories and inquiries, to chatting with her clients about their visions for their day. She listens to you & loves to help plan out your day from start to finish. From your timeline to vendors, outfits, colors pallets. You name it she's on board and happy to help!

She specializes in intimate weddings and adventurous elopements but loves, love and everything about her job! Her style of photography is organic, honest and timeless. Capturing your love as a moment, emotion & movement. All while having fun adventuring throughout the mountains, alongside you.
When she is not with my couples, she’s with her 3 kiddos, hubby and 2 pups. You can usually find her outdoors, exploring, camping, fishing & hiking or planning her next epic trip and enjoying every minute of life. Indoors, when not on my computer working, you’ll find her in the kitchen. She absolutely loves to cook and explore new foods, new ingredients and include my kiddos in the process.
Dawn has over 25+ years of wedding photography experience and has personally shot over 600+ weddings all around the United States and abroad. That experience and the inundation from other professionals asking for her personal advice and experiences lead Dawn to pursue teaching workshops. Dawns education and experiences make her a leading professional in her fiend and Dawns wealth of knowledge, industry etiquette and standards transcends trends.
Eilis | Five Point Design Co.
For many years Eilis has worked with some of the area’s most talented vendors creating events for her upstate New York venue The Inn At Five Points. Eilis realized that many times the events hosted at her event were being managed and curated by herself while working with and within her clients needs and wish lists. Eilis also realized that her space was something that many soaked in, always being asked “did you design this space yourself”. She did, and she knew there was a pull she had to help others do the same. In 2018 Five Points Design Company was launched, providing full event and interior design services to her clients.
Couples and families turn to Eilis to provide design services for either their event or interior/exterior space needs. Whether it be curating a local vendor list or using her rentals and knowledge to design the perfect day to say I do or creating an inviting space a family can host their friends in within their own home, Eilis enjoys each project's individuality and the ability to work with an array of different people . With a background in hospitality and education and a growing venue in upstate New York, it's easy to see why clients choose Eilis for their design needs.
Eilis has been published on many leading industry platforms including Saratoga Bride, Green Wedding Shoes and Wedding Chicks. “Her work speaks volumes and her energy is contagious”, KT Weddings (Leading local wedding planner in the Capital District). .
When Eilis isn’t curating events or designing spaces you will find her spending time with her best friends, her husband and her two Bernese Mountain Dogs. Hiking, traveling and scheming up her next interior design project in her own home are her pastimes and helping you create spaces you can live in, love in, laugh in and make memories in is her passion.
The Inn at Five Points | Venue
With a passion for entertaining and hosting, and a strong interest in local food and the culinary scene, it was the perfect match for owners Eilis and Jim Petrosino to collaborate in the opening of a bed and breakfast in Upstate New York.
As a young couple, Saratoga has always been a destination city for them, visiting for the races, to see a concert at SPAC in the summer, or simply to visit friends. When it came to choosing a location to pursue their dreams, Saratoga could not have been a more perfect fit.
We invite you to embark on your own journey, and to let us offer the warmth and comfort of your own home away from home while doing so. We can’t wait to host you during this most wonderful workshop experience.

Her designs mix classic styles with personal touches to create a cohesive suite that reflects your love story and wedding day.
True Beauty Company | Lauren
As a makeup artist, Lauren has had the privilege of being a part of hundreds of wedding mornings and it fills her soul.. every.. single.. time. She has been witness to the intimate tears, stories and laughs. From helping brides step into their dress, to sewing a loose button, or holding a mother’s hand as she takes that first look at her baby girl, she cherishes it all. She too, has wept, laughed and shared in the great joy a day like this brings.
Lauren calls Saratoga Springs, NY home with her family. She is a NYS licensed esthetician-makeup artist and has been in the beauty business for 17 years. She has worked every facet of the industry from spa to salon, commercial to editorial, every day to the most special days. Lauren has worked alongside the best wedding vendors and venues in upstate NY and New England.
She has had the honor of collaborating with amazing hair and makeup artists in Upstate New York. Together they have formed a community, based on mutual love of what TRUE BEAUTY means. To bring out the best version of our clients through our talent, genuine love of beauty and dedication to enhancing the wedding day experience.
In recent years, she expanded her career into the coordinating side of beauty, making the process simple for both the client and our artists. Little did she know she would find her TRUE love. Her joy of coordinating pairs perfectly with giving our independent artists more freedom to make TRUE beauties while she handles their booking tasks. She fully enjoys helping women find the best artists in our area to suit their unique style and wedding details. She too was once a bride and empathized with the confusing & nerve wracking planning process, she’s here to help :)

The Social Breeze
Heather founded The Social Breeze in May of 2018 with the main goal being to help businesses in the Capital Region reach larger audiences, bring in new clientele, and make an impact on their social media platforms. TSB currently offers services for social media content planning, post planning, and post assistance. Beginning in 2020, TSB will be taking a new turn towards content planning and launching TSB Content Planners by early March 2020. Heather has worked with companies from Salons to Reiki practices to professional services. At the Social Breeze, she takes great pride in having the same care and passion for her clients like she would for her own business.
We are so thrilled to offer each of our workshop participants a two hour presentation with questions and answers and loads of social media information. Her extensive knowledge of the platform can help us all navigate it better and provide our individual businesses with tools to best serve our clients.

As a mother of two young children, Sandy challenged herself to make the best cakes possible for her children’s birthday parties. Delving into experimental recipes, teaching herself decorating techniques and using the finest ingredients, she soon developed a reputation among family and friends for her beautiful and delicious cakes. Through word of mouth, she began making cakes for parties across the greater Cleveland, Ohio area.
In 2009, Sandy joined the team at the well-known bakery, White Flower Cake Shoppe, thus elevating her passion to a new level. Under the direction of Marianne Carroll and Lauren Bozich, Sandy refined her skills; the fine art of buttercream, all-scratch recipe development, scrolling and precision technique, and the execution of floral design. With great teachers by her side, Sandy learned quickly and was promoted to lead decorator for the next seven years. The experience gained through her years at White Flower Cake Shoppe is what sets Sandy apart from others, and for this she is forever grateful.
With an “empty nest” and a desire for new adventures, Sandy set forth to a new home in Glens Falls, NY. Through much bravery and the love and support of family and friends, Sandy launched The GingerSnap Cake Shop. She is thrilled to be sharing her talents in her new hometown and helping her clients to Celebrate Life Sweetly. We are thrilled to have her as part of our workshop and look forward to photographing her cakes and designing around them!
Jonathan Reid Menswear
In August 2015, Jeffrey Ives purchased Jonathan Reid Menswear. Mr. Ives is an entrepreneur with a bachelor's of science degree in Psychology from Siena College, and completed his graduate work to become a psychologist in Vermont. Mr.. Ives has been a psychologist for the Office of Mental Health for the past 12 years, working inside the walls of maximum security prisons.
Mr. Ives started working at Jonathan Reid while he was attending undergraduate school at Siena. He believed that there was a great opportunity for success, although the current vision of the store was not conducive to obtaining that success. Working part-time at the store for many years while retaining his job as a psychologist, Mr. Ives was able to create a plan of success based on the current trends of the fashion market, and believed with the right changes, Jonathan Reid could return to it’s previous glory.
Jonathan Reid focuses on tailored men's clothing, specifically suits, sport coats, outwear, pants, and accessories. There is an in-house tailor who is skilled at making sure your outfit fits you perfectly. Mr. Ives major focus is to give his clients a shopping experience, so that they not only have a great piece of clothing, but also leave with a better working knowledge of what their styles and tastes are going forward. We are thrilled to have Mr. Ives’s experience and design sense regarding menswear on board for our workshop, his menswear knowledge is so helpful in curating the looks we were interested in showcasing at our workshop.
Janet Cooper took ownership of Angela’s Bridal in 2008. Her vision was to create an exceptional bridal shopping experience in a relaxed environment, delivered by knowledgeable consultants, against a backdrop of a stunning and decadent decor.
Janet has over 22 years of experience in gown design and tailoring. She is a graduate of PSU with an MFA in costume design. Prior to Angela’s she was a theater costume designer for ten years, serving as Head of Wardrobe at the prestigious English National Opera in London, England.
Janet’s commitment to every Angela’s bride is simple: You will have an amazing bridal gown purchase experience from the beginning to ever after. She instills this ethic in every step of the gown selection process, and it shows – customers rave about their Angela’s Bridal experience and we cannot wait to use one of her hand curated dresses during our Elopement workshop experience.

Tap Truck, Saratoga
Childhood friends since tee-ball, Corbin and Taylor were stoked when in 2016 they tossed around the idea of creating some beer trucks for parties. With great passion for beer and classic pickup trucks, the vision was born for what is now Tap Truck! Co-founder Taylor has always had a craving for finding the best local craft beers. While co-founder Corbin holds a soft spot in his heart for vintage American rigs. The two combined are excited to be doing what they love most, and will never get tired of seeing people's reactions to the trucks! The rest is history.
Taylor and Corbin began the business in arguably the craft beer capital of the world, San Diego. With a great deal of hard work, Corbin and Taylor have personally restored all of their vehicles within the San Diego fleet. They custom install each kegerator system and thoroughly test each truck's draft beer systems. They enjoy sanding, welding, and fixing each truck along with selecting brand new styles to add to their collection.
Tap Truck Saratoga is open for business and we are thrilled to be one of the first to use their amazing services for our workshop! Nothing but the best and an industry first is always our style:)
